Steel core, armor piercing, tracers, buckshot, and birdshot ammunition are prohibited. Slugs are allowed. No black powder firearms! Handgun ammunition may not exceed 3,600 fps. When renting a firearm, Bob’s Little Sport Shop ammunition must be purchased.
Safety Rules
1. All Federal, State, and Local firearm laws must be obeyed. Shooters must be in compliance at all times with all federal, state, and local
laws and regulations concerning ownership and handling of firearms. Range Staff/RSOs reserve the right to inspect any firearm or ammunition for safety and legal considerations.
2. Drug and Alcohol use is strictly prohibited. Never use drugs or alcohol before or while shooting. This includes prescription/non-prescription drugs that may make it unsafe for you to use a firearm.
3. All firearms must be unloaded and cased coming in and out of the range. All rental firearms entering or leaving the range area must be UNLOADED with actions open and magazines removed. No Exceptions. All loading and unloading will be conducted while in the booth with the firearm’s muzzle pointed down range at all times.
4. Eye and ear protection must be worn at all times when in the range. Ear plugs are acceptable, but full hearing protection (muffs) is recommended. Prescription glasses are acceptable, but shooting glasses over them is recommended.
5. Only silhouette paper targets are allowed. Targets with human caricatures, and metal/steel targets are prohibited. Please remove and dispose of all debris when leaving the range.
6. Only one person may fire from a booth at a time. Only one loaded gun in a booth at a time with its correct ammunition. Secure your gear in your provided booth area. Be cautious with misfires, hang fires, and squib loads. Hang fires may go off several seconds after, and squib loads (under powered) may leave a bullet stuck in the barrel.
7. Buckshot, birdshot, tracer, armor piercing, and steel core ammunition are prohibited. Slugs are allowed in handguns only. No black powder firearms.
Handgun ammunition may not exceed 3,600 fps. Bob’s Little Sport Shop ammunition must be purchased for use in gun rentals.
8. Shirt and shoes must be worn at all times. Sandals, flip flops, open-toed shoes, and loose clothing are not recommended in the range.
Ejected brass is extremely hot.
9. Food, beverages, and smoking in the firing range are prohibited. Because of lead particulate matter, it is unsanitary to have any consumable items on the range.
10. No one may go beyond the firing line at any time. Nothing may be retrieved from in front of the firing line at any time, including but
not limited to firearms, targets, ammunition, cases, etc. If you want to save your brass for reloading, we recommend the use of a brass catcher attached to the firearm.
11. No drawing from a holster. Handguns are to be fired at eye level and rifles are to be fired from the shoulder. No cross firing on targets, and absolutely no rapid firing from rifles. Firing a shot that results in damage to the target system, equipment, or backstop, will result in a repair charge, fine and/or removal from the range. If you experience a negligent discharge behind the firing line and the incident only causes property damage and no injury to yourself or any other individuals, you will be immediately removed from the range. Upon review of the incident, the Range Staff will have the option to either revoke your membership or require you to attend remedial firearm training, depending on the severity of the infraction. If there are any injuries to other shooters/staff members on the range, there might be forthcoming criminal/civil charges and your membership will be revoked or you will be banned from the range.
12. A ‘cease fire’ command may be called by anyone and must be obeyed immediately. When the cease fire is given:
Stop shooting immediately
Keep the gun pointed in a safe direction
Unload & bench your firearm
Step behind the yellow line
Wait for further instructions from Range Staff or RSO
Commands issued by Range Officers and Range Personnel must be obeyed immediately and without question. The RSO will provide guidance and adhere to all safety protocol. The RSO is in charge of the range at all times. Any command that is given by the RSO must be obeyed and if a shooter refuses to abide by the command, the RSO will have the authority to remove the shooter from the premises immediately. If the infraction on the shooter’s part is more severe (i.e. disrespecting the RSO, confrontational behavior to any Range Staff, Firearm safety violations, violations of any of the range safety rules) the range will have the authority to impose other sanctions (i.e.
require remedial training before returning to the range, cancellation of the shooters membership and/or loss of range privileges).
13. Absolutely NO pictures or video inside the range. Report any unsafe practices/conditions or range injuries to Range Staff or RSO immediately.
14. Failure to abide by these rules may result in a reprimand and/or removal from the range.
Safety Notices:
- It is recommended that you wash your hands and face with cold water after all range activity. Cold water is recommended because cold water closes the pores of your skin, which makes it less likely to absorb the lead particulate matter.
- Pregnant women are advised to check with their Doctor before entering the range.
